Description
Liebert is a middle-aged, second-rate swordsman whose life is going nowhere. Ten years ago, he was the sole survivor of the hero’s party that defeated the Demon King in a deadly battle, and once hailed as the greatest swordsman in the kingdom. But the trauma of being unable to protect his comrades left him unable to draw out his true strength.
Mocked even by rookie adventurers, he scrapes by day to day until one afternoon, Aria, a girl he once trained in swordsmanship, comes to visit him. She’s been chosen as the new Hero, and she’s come to invite Liebert to join her party.
Liebert turns her down, still shackled by his trauma. But at the same time, a surviving commander of the Demon King’s army attacks the city with the goal of killing Aria.
Watching Aria stand and fight alone as the Hero, Liebert once again takes up his sword and resolves to face the revived Demon King as the swordsman of the Hero’s party.
However, the party’s other members, Aisha and Iska, aren’t happy about Liebert joining… Will he be able to earn their trust?
